Bylakupe - A Must Visit Place

A few facts about Bylakuppe:

1) Situated around 90 kilometers away from Mysore on SH 88 in the state of Karnataka, Bylakuppe comprises of two Tibetan refugee settlements setup in 1961  “Lugsum Samdupling” and 1969 “Dickyi Larsoe”
2) With the population of more than 10000, it has the highest number of Tibetan in India after Dharmasala.
3) Golden Temple is the main tourist attraction here. It houses 40 feet statue of PadmasambhavaBuddha and Amitayus.
4) Modeled after the original Sera University in Tibet, Sera Je Monastery keeps Tibetan Buddhist culture alive in Bylakuppe. Sakya Monastery and Tashi Lhunpo Monastery are the other two monasteries. 
5) The place can be visited anytime during the year, though September to May is preferred because of their festival season.
6) Madikeri (Coorg) is around 40 km and Bangalore is around 250 km from Bylakuppe.

A must visit place.
